A man is caught in a desperate race against time in this claustrophobic thriller from director Rodrigo Cortes. Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) is an American truck driver who has been contracted to work in Iraq, and while delivering a load of kitchen equipment as part of a humanitarian aid program, he's captured by insurgent guerrillas who intend to hold him hostage. Paul is struck unconscious, put into a coffin-like box, and buried, and when he comes to, all he has to help him get out is a lighter, a cell phone, a pen, and a jacknife. Trapped underground with a limited supply of air, Paul frantically calls his family, his employer, and American military and political representatives, trying to remain calm as his chances of survival slip farther away with each passing minute.

'Buried' is a great example of minimalistic filmmaking at it's best.' 'Half the terror being buried alive, half the terror being put on hold.'
''I was hesitant about this film, i mean how interesting can 1 man in a box be for 90 minutes?? VERY!! Not at all what i expected. twists and turns and very well filmed! Ryan at his best as always! watched it 3 times in 2 days i was gripped! and the last 20mins i was just on the edge of my seat! brilliant!''
John Ajvide Lindqvist's celebrated vampire novel makes the leap to the big screen once again with the second feature adaptation in so many years (Tomas Alfredson's critically acclaimed 2008 hit LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, being the first). The sensitive target of vicious bullying at school, 12-year-old Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) is a social misfit from a broken home. By day Owen dreams about laying waste to his classroom tormentors; by night his attentions turn to his reclusive neighbours in their austere apartment complex. One evening, as Owen takes out his pent-up aggressions on a tree, his new neighbour Abby (Chloe Grace Moretz – KICK-ASS) appears over his shoulder. A young girl wise beyond her years, Abby just moved in next door to Owen with her stoic caretaker (Richard Jenkins), who seems to harbour a sinister secret. Compelled by Abby's apparent imperviousness to the harsh winter elements, her frail disposition, and the fact that she's nowhere to be found before the sun falls, Owen senses a kindred soul, and strikes up a friendship with the girl, despite her repeated attempts to maintain an emotional distance. Simultaneously, their community grows vigilant following a series of vicious murders, and Abby's caretaker vanishes without a trace. Later, as Abby begins to grow vulnerable, her bond with Owen strengthens. By the time Owen begins to suspect that his evasive new friend is something other than human, it starts to seem as if Abby could use a good friend after all. Given that his bullies are growing more emboldened by the day, so too could Owen.

''Masterful horror film. Complex, sad, scary and unsentimental''
''a beautiful well acted film''
''rather watch this anyday than twilight!''
''Best Horror Film I've seen in a long time.''
Brilliantly put together, Brilliant acting, dark and meaning full, personally i think its the best horror that has been made in years, loved it!
THE CHILDREN deftly combines the unsettling realism of low-budget 1970's British horror, with the visceral savagery and shocks of the glossy updated genre. Working with the tried and tested theme of 'mummy's darling turned evil hellspawn' that made VILLIAGE OF THE DAMED and THE OMEN such chilling classics, writer/director Tom Shankland's film exploits the modern SUPERNANNY generation, indulgently obsessed with child behaviour. The story takes place at Christmas time, with two middle-class families gathered together to share in the festivities. But the peace doesn't last, as slowly their children succumb to a strange illness and start to bring death and destruction to the people who gave them life.

THIS IS A FAR BETTER FILM THAN SOME PEOPLE GIVE IT CREDIT FOR. I WASN'T EXPECTING MUCH MORE THAN A WATCHABLE FILM WITH CREEPY KIDS,BUT IT'S REALLY VERY GOOD. WHAT STARTS AS 2 FAMILIES HAVING CHRISTMAS TOGETHER,ENJOYING THE SNOW AND EACH OTHER'S COMPANY,SOON BECOMES SOMETHING QUITE EERIE. YOU JUST KNOW SOMETHING IN THE KIDS IS ABOUT TO SHOW IT'S UGLY FACE,IT BUILDS TENSION LIKE A TICKING TIMEBOMB,YOU KNOW IT'S ABOUT TO BLOW AND WHEN IT BLOWS,OH BOY,DOES IT BLOW!
THE KIDS ARE PLAYED VERY WELL BY THE YOUNG ACTORS,BEHAVING VERY DISTURBINGLY. THE DEATHS ARE CERTAINLY WELL DONE AND HAD ME WINCING,SOME OF THE SCENES I WOULD SAY ARE VERY BRAVE,THE RETALIATION AGAINST THE KIDS WHO HAVE TURNED INTO VICIOUS LITTLE SODS THANKS TO A VIRUS OF SORTS IS,IN MY VIEW QUITE SHOCKING.
CERTAINLY IT IS NOT THE BEST HORROR FILM I'VE SEEN,BUT I'M VERY GLAD I BOUGHT IT AND PLAN ON WATCHING IT AGAIN VERY SOON.
SERIOUSLY,DON'T BE PUT OFF BY NAGATIVE REVIEWS,AS LONG AS YOU DON'T EXPECT AMAZING,I THINK YOU'LL BE SURPRISED HOW GOOD IT IS.
THIS IS EASILY ONE OF THE CREEPIEST CHILDREN GONE BAD FILMS I'VE EVER SEEN.

If you see the children Will put you off kids for life ,little monsters, A rather unsettling horror , The children goes where no other film goes - having to kill your own children. i think this is what makes it interesting as no one in there right mind would want to do that. The parents never belive there is anything wrong with their kids which leads to some grisly deaths! the setting is really good - isolated in the country with nowhere to get way from them and they make good use of the surroundings.
A group of girls seek adventure on a caving expedition. Deep inside underground caves they find themselves cut off from the world and off the map. Battling to get back to the surface they realise that they are being hunted by an unknown cannibalistic force. Now they must pull together and fight for their very survival.
i think the descent Very creepy ,Some people seem to have missed the point of this film, complaining about the horror. It is a horror film but is done so well that when the gore finally arrives you're nerves are already shredded. The build up is tense and the creepy moments really do make you jump in your seat. Far from being empty, the characters are largely rounded, although not all are sympathetic.

And how does Wrong Turn 2 do in comparison with the original? Well, damn great if I may say. Seeing as the original is very serious, eerie, and scary, the sequel tries to be quite the opposite - just a simple, hardcore, highly entertaining, no-brain, and brutal Splatter flick which doesn't take itself seriously, and luckily, it succeeds. It's very different from the first one, and quality-wise - I love them both equally as they're entirely different, but equally amazing. Also, don't let the fact that this is a direct-to-video film put you away, as it's definitely the best straight-to-video movie I've ever seen, and just proves that sometimes even a little, direct-to-video sequel can live up to its proceeder, and even stand on its own.
In short, Wrong Turn 2 is hands down the most entertaining and goriest Horror Sequel I've ever seen. It's not flawless or perfect, but I still love it, so if you really are looking for a worthy sequel with amazing acting, great direction, brutal and inventive deaths, likable characters, and lots more, Wrong Turn 2 is definitely then the right turn, and an amazing Horror flick you should surely check out! Highly recommended.
''A group of friends passing through are stalked and hunted down by a deformed killer with a chainsaw in order to sustain his poor family who can only afford to eat what they kill. ''
Driving through the backwoods of Texas, five youths pick up a traumatized hitchhiker, who shoots herself in their van. Shaken by the suicide, the group seeks help from the locals, but their situation becomes even more surreal when they knock on the door of a remote homestead. It's quickly apparent the residents are a family of inbred psychopaths, and the unlucky youths suddenly find themselves running for their lives. In hot pursuit is a disfigured, chainsaw-wielding cannibal known as Leatherface. Written by Love Hewitt
If You Love Gory, Scary Slasher Flicks...Then This Is For You
This Is One Hell Of A Horror Film!!! I have to say too that the acting was very good, though I wonder how hard it is to fake fear when you see some of the scenarios the actors were in, but even the background actors are very good and add an element of paranoid fear to the film. The thing that shocked me most was how brutal and graphic the film was, the gore being very realistic, and used very well. Instead of buckets of blood, we get moments of horror that end in a very bright splash of red. And like the first, the most brutal killings are shot in a way so that you see what is happening to the victim but yet DON'T see it at the same time. This is not a perfect film. It is too decadently dark and a lot of people will hate the film for that reason, and it will be hard to see this as being a movie you will want to watch over and over and over again.
''On one last road trip before they're sent to serve in Vietnam, two brothers and their girlfriends get into an accident that calls their local sheriff to the scene. Thus begins a terrifying experience where the teens are taken to a secluded house of horrors, where a young, would-be killer is being nurtured. ''
In August, 1939, a worker goes into labor while working in a slaughterhouse and dies after a complicated labor, though the deformed child survives. The possibly orphaned baby is dumped in a garbage container and found by a beggar later, who brings him home. Along the years, the mentally retarded and disturbed boy called Thomas is raised by the Hewitt family in spite of having psychological problems as well as suffering from an unnamed skin disorder, later working in a meat packing plant. In July, 1969, when the facility is closed, the inhabitants move to other places, but the deformed, mentally childlike Thomas flies into a rage after being insulted and kills the foreman. His deranged brother (considered his uncle due to their age difference) executes the sheriff that is going to arrest Thomas, and assumes his identity, wearing his clothes, driving his car though the roads in Texas and entitling himself as Sheriff Hoyt...

The movie is very good...if you're into this kind of thing. It's nice to see a franchise splatter film that is intense and gory without being cheesy. Many of the current crop of splatter films are played intentionally cheesy for humor. Which is fine, but they shouldn't ALL be like that. This movie has some humor in it, but it's a darker humor, and not meant to be cheesy or campy.
Everything that comes to mind when you hear the words "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is in this movie. No wussing-out in this one! Murder, torture, cannibalism, insanity and a touch of the surreal. Oh yeah, and a chainsaw. No punches are pulled, so this flick is not for the squeamish.
The acting in the film is very good there are some very intense performances and some graphic scenes. It's shot very 70's slasherseque which overall gives it a creepy aura. The storyline is very easy to follow yet very disturbing and depressing at the same time.
The Hills Have Eyes it Finally, an excellent horror movie
this movie i like and want to see agian and agian. the movie starts as a slow-boil suspense, horror movie, provides some decent jump-scare and spends some time building up character. The movie then switches gears and turns into a gritty, and further switches to gears to a action, revenge movie, but still with horror elements. It's scary, sick, nearly uncompromising (the unrated cut will undoubtedly be so) and disturbing, but also adrenaline-filled and riveting. Certainly NOT for the weak-stomached person. The special effects were good...lots of gore and violence. It's suspenseful, dark, and is guaranteed to leave you with a creepy feeling that won't let you go to sleep right after watching it.
While traveling in a trailer to California through the New Mexico Desert, a family is misled to a shortcut going to nowhere by the owner of an isolated gas station and wrecks the car in a rock. Along the night and on the next day, they are attacked by a group of deformed cannibals, fruit of the atmospheric nuclear tests conducted by USA from 1945 to 1962 in that spot. Absolutely trapped by the psychotics, they have to fight to survive.
''A suburban American family is being stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert, far away from civilization. ''
